Pip Trentham   Pip Trentham
Pip Trentham is the Regional Communications Manager for Business in the Community in the South West and works to inspire, support and challenge companies to act responsibly.  As well as running two awards programmes in the region, the Awards for Excellence and the South West C+ Carbon Positive Awards, her role includes organising and delivering The Prince’s May Day Summit, the UK’s largest gathering of businesses committed to taking action on climate change.
     
     
Mike Ashman   Mike Ashman
Mike has worked in HR for around 18 years following an early career in Banking. Having proved his ability as an HR Business Partner specialising in Customer Service within the Financial Services sector, he ran recruitment teams at AXA Life for four years before becoming manager of the AXA Group Resourcing Delivery team consisting of some 50 recruiters across the UK. Both a Member of the Institute of Personal and Development and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Mike is also a keen rower - once competitive, but still determinedly racing people half his age!

I am 48 years old and married with two children. I was born and bred in Bristol.

I joined Bristol City Council 10 years ago and have been in HR for 8 of those years. For 4 years I was the Recruitment Co-Ordinator working with the recruitment team within the City Council to assist senior and recruiting managers in all aspects of their recruitment process. I was also involved in the procurement and implementation of the Bristol City Council e-recruitment website which went 'live' in July 2007. I have
In May 2008 I was appointed as the Recruitment and Employment Services Manager. I have responsibility for the recruitment team, the Bristol City Council in-house employment agency and also our redeployment team.

For the last 12 months I have been working with the Department of Children, Schools and Families to procure and implement a national Schools Recruitment Service to be available to all local authorities and schools within the UK during 2009/2010.
 
     

Judging Process

  • Entries can be by post or on-line. Application forms will be available as a PDFs downloadable
    from our website www.thisisbristol.co.uk/recruitmentawards or by post or from our head office in Temple Way.
  • Closing date is September 14, 2009.
  • Entries to be shortlisted by September 17, 2009. 
  • The shortlisted entrants will be invited to appear before the judging panel taking part at the Evening Post building.   
  • The decision of the judging panel is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
  • The winners will be announced at a gala dinner on October 16, 2009 at Brunel’s
  • Passenger Shed, Temple Meads part of the Empire and Commonwealth Museum.
