What will the money be spent on?

The Wooden Spoon in Devon has four projects in process at present for which the funds raised by the SWW will ultimately be used.
1. Wooden Spoon kitchen and IT Suite at the St Barnabus centre in Dartmouth opening early 2008.
This unit will take homeless young people - provide a flat at the St Barnabus centre with a view to ultimately engaging that person in to training in the hospitality or industries needing IT skills - The Wooden Spoon restaurant will be a commercial operation providing a dining experience to the general public.
The Wooden Spoon IT Suite will obviously offer the training in IT skills.
The aim is to bridge young people from homelessness in to homes and jobs after assistance via the St Barnabus Centre. Investment from Spoon £205,000.
2. Ellen Tinkham School in Exeter for disabled children providing an out reach training facility which can also be used by disabled childrenand their families as a community facility alongside this a state of the art physiotherapy clinic for disabled children and young people. Wooden Spoon investment £50,000.
3. Coombe Pafford School - Torquay providing a skills training building for young people with significant learning challenges in vehicle mechanic, building and hospitality industry skills with a view to potential worthwhile employment and purposeful education and learning experiences. Spoon investment - £100,000
Cornwall
In the last 12 months we have completed a sensory room at Doubletrees School (£30K) and bought a minibus for the Pirates Learning Zone (£23K). We are now casting our eyes over potential future projects.
Somerset
There is a large project in the making in conjunction with Somerset County Council in which the Somerset Committee have pledged £40,000.
