Step up to the challenge for Walk’s finale

PUTTING their best feet forward, hundreds of fundraisers are expected to join forces for a final Great South West Walk push this May.
Those who missed out on the walking extravaganza last August have a final chance to join in the fun.
And those who came to join the Western Morning News last year are invited to the rejoin the team for one last walk.
The WMN’s biggest fundraising campaign ever will return on May 18 for one final push to reach a target of £200,000.
An incredible £175,000 was raised by walking the entire length of the South West Coast Path.
And since then a further £3,000 has been generated through two Question of Sport quizzes in Plymouth and Exeter.
Two of the long-distance stars of last year’s 630-mile walk – Jo Owen from Modbury, South Devon, and James Bloye from Launceston, North Cornwall – have agreed to make a special appearance.
The circular route chosen for Sunday, May 18 is a ten-mile stretch from Jenny-cliff, near Plymouth, to Wembury.
It takes in a stunning leg of the South West Coast Path and winds inland through rolling South Hams hills back to the start point.
Foot Anstey solicitors has already donated £1,000 for the May walk.
Langage Farm has agreed to offer free ice cream to the walkers and energy bars and water will also be available.
The WMN is hoping 300 walkers will join us on the day. If they each raise £50 this will help smash the £200,000 target.
