Maitlands was established in South East Cornwall, during the middle of a property recession
in 1994, by Andrew
Blacklock, (founder and now Managing Director). He was disillusioned
with how larger corporate estate agents
offered such a poor level of service. He began the
Maitlands movement from the Saltash office and Maitlands were
soon recognised as market leaders
within the area, acting for many of the UK's top developers.
This reputation has continued to develop as the company has established itself in other
areas. It now has 3 market
leading residential branches in the South West. This still includes
the Saltash office, now run by Katherine Gibbs a
branch partner who joined in 2001. There
is also the Plympton office, run by Paul Stone, a Director who joined in
1995, and finally
the Ivybridge office run by Helen Moore, also a director who joined in 2001.
We strive hard to deliver an immaculate service in an industry that historically has had a
poor reputation. This
dedication has not gone unnoticed. In 2004 at The Daily Telegraphs "Estate Agents of the Year" awards, we won the
title of "Southwest Gold Winners". In 2006
we continued to impress and were recognised as a "top referral agent" by
the National Home
Network.
