Who carries out the judging?Experts in their field. No one will judge a category where What is the judging process?For the categories open to the public nomination (see categories tab), the three highest-scoring nominations in each category will go through to the finals and they will each receive a visit from a judge. For the categories open to individuals and business nominations which require a paper entry (see categories tab) the judges will make a decision based on the standard of paper entries as per the judging criteria and will select their top three finalists. For the Chef of the Year and Young Chef of the Year, there will be live cooking finals. Those that make it through to the finals will be advised by letter during the second half of May. How many finalists are there?There will be three finalists in each category with the exception of Best School Food Initiative and Young Chef of the Year where there will be six as they are split into two separate categories within the categories. What do I get if I reach the finals?Great publicity and prestige! You also receive two tickets to the black tie awards event with complimentary wine on the table, a quarter page feature in the newspapers, your name in the roll of honour web site, and a great opportunity to network with all the other finalists. What do I get if I win?In addition to all of the above you will get another feature in the newspapers, you will be listed as a winner along with a photo of you receiving your award on the web site, a superb commemorative trophy and a commemorative photo and the opportunity to tell all your clients, customers, friends and colleagues about your success. What is the closing date for entries?Thursday 8th May 2008 Where is the awards evening being held?The Waterfront Place, Chelmsford commencing with a drinks reception and canapés at 6.30pm on 4th September 2008.
