MEET THE FACE OF GLOUCESTERSHIRE WINNERS

Warren Phillips - PROFILE

It's been less than seven days but it looks like Face of Gloucestershire winner Warren Phillips could soon be following in the footsteps of his idol David Beckham.

The 21-year-old, from Hempsted, has already had offers for modelling work.

He said: "It's been a mad week. All my friends have been calling me 'face' every time I ring them."

With a trip to London to see modelling agents Rah planned in the next few weeks Warren is looking forward to his year in the spotlight.

With his blond hair, diamond earring and even an angel tattooed on his back he admits he is a big fan of David Beckham.

Warren said: "He is a bit of a role model for me. I love the clothes he wears.

"If I could be like that, it would be amazing."

Like Becks, Warren is also at home on the pitch, playing for two football teams every weekend.

He said: "I play for the Avenue pub on Saturdays and they've been promoted every season since I've been there and have just won the league.

"Then on Sundays I play for Hempsted."

But no matter what happens with his burgeoning modelling career Warren is determined not to give up his job as a care worker for adults with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour for New Beginnings.

"It's hard work but I love it," he said. "I've got a great team. There's no way I'd give it up. I want to juggle modelling and my job."

Lauren McDonnell - PROFILE

Most gap years involve backpacking on a shoe string but Lauren McDonnell is getting ready for 12 months of glamorous parties and photoshoots.

The 19-year-old Face of Gloucestershire winner can't wait to get started on her new career.

With her exams at Cirencester College almost over Lauren is taking a year out before starting a degree in theatrical costume. On Monday her first assignment will be heading to Birmingham with the team from Blushes Cheltenham to take part in a glitzy L'Oreal hair event. Her idol is actress Natalie Portman, whose performance as a pole dancer in Closer made a big impression on Lauren.

"I admire Natalie Portman: I thought she was amazing in Closer and I think she's really stylish.

"I always said I wanted a gap year so this has come at quite a nice time."

Lauren, who lives with her parents in Stonehouse said she is looking forward to relaxing after a busy week leading up to last Sunday's final.

"I had exams that week," she said. "But on the night it was brilliant I would do it again if I had the chance."

With a part-time job behind the bar at the Woolpack in Slad and weekends spent hanging out with her mates Lauren is just like any other girl her age.

Despite studying drama she said she does get nervous on the catwalk.

"I get quite nervous I put up a front," she said. "I can be quite shy. It will be weird seeing myself in magazines.

"I've been watching Britain's Next Top Model to see what I might be doing. It should be a good year."
