Revolution Bar - Cheltenham
Thursday, 20th March 2008

YOUNG modelling hopefuls stepped into the limelight at Revolution in Cheltenham as the search for the Face of Gloucestershire continues.

Young men and women streamed into the Clarence Parade venue’s upstairs bar from 8pm to 11pm to be photographed for the competition run by The Citizen and Gloucestershire Echo, event organisers Apero and main sponsors Blushes and the Beechwood Shopping Centre.

The aspiring models, aged 18-25, had their pictures taken by professional photographers Heidi Cartmell and John Moore from Two Front Teeth and Secret Me. It was the third of four shoots in the first stage of the contest, which has so far seen more than 150 people pose in the hope of winning a modelling contract and being named the Face of Gloucestershire.

Organiser Michelle Pemberton, of Apero, said: “We’ve had a great response so far and the standards have been really high.”

The first competitor was Pamela Crisp, a 20-year-old music student from Cheltenham, who said: “I thought I’d come along and give it a try. “It’s a bit of fun, but I’ve never done anything like this before.”

House of Fraser sales assistant Piers Dorgee, 18, of Leckhampton, said: “I’ve come with an open mind.”

Voting begins on April 2.
