I'm new to the Talent Trail game, other than judging a heat of the venerable competition back in the late 90s at the Chomley Club.
That didn't go that well either to be fair - I just remember one young girl's family getting a little hot under the collar when their princess didn't quite make the grade. I tend to remember it all ended with the judges having to be escorted from the building in fear of our lives!
Now I find myself in charge of |
proceedings and suddenly being very aware of all the stuff that needs to be done in the background just to get the event off the ground.
My main aim this year is to take Talent Trail out to other parts of the city - east Hull hasn't seen any TTaction in years and it's about time it did.
To that end compare Dave Norman and his good wife Vicky kindly took me on a whistle-stop tour of clubs east of the river last week and I’m just waiting for confirmation from four new venues before working out when and where everything is going to take place – you’ll find out here first.
Another new feature of this year’s |
competition is that not only will we film each of the events and broadcast them right here, the video reports will also be screened on Hull’s big screen – so performers will be able to catch themselves on the city’s biggest telly.
Now that everything is starting to drop into place – all we need now is you. If you fancy competing in the region’s biggest and best talent event get your forms filled in and get them sent in – as they say: “you’ve got to be in it to win it”.
Thankfully, I won't be the only person blogging on TTO8 this year, when the competition gets going you can get a new perspective on the trials and tribulations as they unfold direct from the people at the heart of the event.
