Hornsea Mere:
HORNSEA Mere is one of the wonders of East Yorkshire.
And a visit there would make a lovely day out for the family, whether you simply want a relaxing stroll in the summer, or you fancy yourself as the next Bill Oddie. Hornsea Mere is the largest freshwater lake in Yorkshire and was formed at the end of the Ice Age. Due to its closeness to the North Sea, the lake attracts a variety of wintering birds including gadwalls, goldeneyes and tufted ducks.
It covers an area of 467 acres and is two-miles-long. It is a popular tourist attraction offering visitors rowing, sailing, boat trips and fishing. It is also a Special Protection Area with a diverse range of swamp and fen plants.

Eden Camp:
A DAY out at Eden Camp is like taking a step back in time.
The unique museum at Eden Camp, in Malton, North Yorkshire, will transport you back in time to wartime Britain. You will experience the sights, sounds, even the smells of those dangerous years. It has reconstructed scenes using movement, lighting, sound, smells and even smoke machines to make you feel that you are there taking part in history.
It’s easy to see how the award-winning museum was originally built as Prisoner of War Camp built in 1942. It’s fascinating and reveals the vital spirit which eventually triumphed in 1945. These superb and life like exhibits make a visit to Eden Camp a wonderful day out for all the family.

York Dungeon:

The Deep:
FOR a perfect day out for all the family, The Deep, in Hull, is the place to go.
It is ideal for entertaining children, as well as adults, and can be fun and educational at the same time. The Deep is one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world. This award-winning Yorkshire family attraction is home to 40 sharks and more than 3,500 fish. The dramatic building, designed by Sir Terry Farrell, is located in Hull on the Humber Estuary, near Hull marina.

Arctic Corsair:
IF you fancy a day out exploring the history of Hull’s fishing heritage, the Arctic Corsair is the perfect place. A veteran of the Cod Wars, the Arctic Corsair is a deep-sea trawler that was converted to a museum ship in 1999.

Falconry:
HAVE you ever dreamt about getting close to a real bird of prey?
That dream could come true thanks to the Yorkshire Dales Falconry and Wildlife Conservation Area, in Crows Nest Road, near Giggleswick, Settle, North Yorkshire.
Since the centre’s creation in 1991, it has provided the public with a glimpse into the sport of falconry as well as an insight into various birds of prey. There is a main arena, for demonstrations and courses, a lecture room for educational tours along with Henry’s Hedgehog playground for the children.
