Entrepreneur of the Year

Sponsored and judged by Castle Corporate Finance (visit website)

The category

We are looking for an entrepreneurial business person who has recognised a commercial opportunity and been focused on achieving success in its delivery. In so doing, they will demonstrate how the idea came about, the hurdles they had to overcome and the way in which they achieved success.

What the judges are looking for

Also fundamental to the success of any entrepreneur is the way in which they have utilised the expertise of those around them, for example key employees, their bank, accountant, lawyer or other advisers. The judges are particularly keen to see evidence of support and team working, as well as the personal sacrifices made to achieve their success.

Specific questions to answer

  1. What was the opportunity?
  2. How has it impacted on your business?
  3. How did you research, implement and deliver the product or service?
  4. What resources were needed to bring it to market?
  5. Who would you identify as being particularly supportive in the achievement of your goal?
