Leala Watson

When it comes to your wedding day, it is not just the big things, such as the dress, that are important — small finishing touches like tiaras can make all the difference to your look.
Leala Watson, who has made tiaras for three years, hand crafts each one to the bride’s specifications. Tiaras are made from gold or silver-plated wire and set with glass pearls, freshwater pearls, gemstones or crystals of all shapes and finishes. Leala also makes jewellery using the same crystals as in the tiara to co-ordinate.
She said: “Brides have a look at my website and decide the style they have in mind. The tiaras are made specifically to what the bride wants, so the colours can change. It is nice to do as I rarely do the same tiara twice. This year, the hair trail has been popular. The bride’s hair is put up and the trail is woven in and out, with crystals and pearls.” Leala, who creates tiaras for brides all over the country, added: “The bride has gone to the trouble of finding the perfect dress and the perfect veil, and the tiara is a finishing touch. It can be made to match the beadwork, and you can have other things, such as feathers incorporated.”
