Unit provides vital support to early learning and childcare

THE early years development and childcare unit was set up to help the early years development and childcare partnership (EYDCP) to meet its obligations in line with Government guidelines.

It also works to support the programmes and activities of the EYDCP, including the Sure Start programme. Acting as the Children’s Information Service for Neath Port Talbot, the unit is located at 9 High Street, Pontardawe. It is open to everyone with an interest in early years, childcare and play.

Support and assistance is offered in the development of new initiatives as well as those already in existence. Information on early years education, childcare, training and funding is available from the unit. So too is an array of other useful information.
