Swansea Metropolitan University Best for Learning and Teaching

A recent survey of students undertaken by i-graduate* at twenty universities across the UK has revealed that Swansea Metropolitan University is top for its teaching and learning opportunities.

Students were asked for their views on sixteen different aspects of their learning experience including expertise of lecturers, learning support, course content, library facilities and the quality of teaching.

The university scored an overall 87.5 per cent satisfaction rating and came in the top three in nine of the categories, winning five outright.

Individual student comments included:“Friendly atmosphere and encouraging staff. Good establishment, in a beautiful city with very friendly and helpful people. Good learning environment, based on personal experience, thoroughly enjoyable.”
“Swansea Metropolitan University has lots to offer and has a lot going for it. Teaching is of a high standard and the smaller campuses and classes give a more personal feel to each degree which leads to a better understanding of the course and fit within university life.”

“The university is so friendly. The staff are very welcoming and made me feel at home straight away.” “The lectures are relevant with knowledgeable staff who go out of their way to help. I feel that I can go to any of my lectures and get the help that I need and I know that doesn’t happen in all universities.”

Professor David Warner, Vice-Chancellor of Swansea Met, commented: “We are delighted by the results of this UK-wide survey. We want to provide the best possible teaching environment and it seems that we are doing so. Similar comments have been achieved over the years from such external bodies as the Quality Assurance Agency and Estyn, but you can’t beat hearing it directly from students.” *i-graduate is an independent benchmarking and research service, delivering comparative insights for the education sector worldwide
