Advent events
ST MARY MAGDALENE
ST MARY MAGDALENE, Union Street, Torquay, is looking forward to Christmas with an invitation to come and join the celebrations starting tomorrow, December 9, 10.30am, with a Nativity service with everyone invited to come dressed as a character from the story.

CENTRAL CHURCH
DURING Advent and Christmas our main aim at Central will be to get the Christmas message of ‘Peace and Goodwill to ALL Men’, and the relevance of Christ in our everyday lives to as many people as possible.

By the time this is printed Advent will be well advanced and we will be preparing to welcome the local children to a morning of crafts, games and Christmas stories on December 15 from 10am till 12.30pm. This will be the third year for this event during which we try to teach the basic Christian message as well as have fun.

The week before Christmas we host carol services for local schools, have our own candlelight service, and a special service for small children, parents and grandparents on Monday, December 24 at 4pm.

On Christmas Eve we take the Christmas message to local hotels and end up at church to celebrate Holy Communion which takes us to Christmas Day.

FLAVEL CHAPEL
IT was great to be able to welcome so many to ‘Carols in the Old Chapel’, in Flavel Chapel Hall, last year.

Once again we meet on Thursday, December 20, 7.30pm, to remember the good news of the coming of our Saviour, the only beloved Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, into His world. Again we will conclude the evening with seasonal refreshments.

FOXHOLE GRACE BAPTIST CHURCH
COME to Bethlehem! Not literally — no need for a passport. Trust in Jesus, born there 2,000 years ago, who said He is the only ‘passport’ to heaven.

ST JOHN’S Church overlooks Torquay Harbour and can be seen at night by a big white cross that lights up the tower.

We have three carol services this year so please come along to any or all of them.

PALACE AVENUE METHODIST CHURCH
AT Palace Avenue Methodist Church we strive to provide worship for all age groups and we seek to reflect this throughout the year as well as in the Christmas period.

We have our Nativity at 10.30am on December 16, featuring the Sunday School and youth groups, the traditional carol service at 6.30pm on December 23, and a service for all of the family at 10.30am on Christmas Day.

ST MATTHIAS CHURCH
‘A CHILD For Our Time’ is the title of our service of carols, readings and reflections at St Matthias Church on Sunday 23 at 6.30pm. Afterwards there are refreshments in the Church centre.

On Christmas Eve, at 5 pm, there is our special service for families, and Christmas Communion at 11.30pm.

On Christmas morning as well as the traditional communion service at 8am, we have our Christmas Celebration and Communion, starting at 10.30am, and ending with carols round the Christmas tree.

GOODRING-TON METHODIST CHURCH
GOODRINGTON Methodist Church, Grange Road, Paignton, celebrates the birth of Jesus with family-friendly services and activities led by Reverend Chris Haines.

On Sunday, December 9, 10.30am, all-age worship.

On Sunday, December 23, 6pm, candlelight carol service and Nativity play by the children of Junior Church.

On Christmas Day, 10.30am, celebrate Christmas! Worship for all ages.

LIBERTY Church is a newly formed fellowship under the pastorship of Trevor Twinley.

Trevor has many years experience in Christian ministry and until recently he was involved in the leadership of a local house group until the Lord led him to establish and pastor Liberty Church in September of this year.

Our main aim is to minister the love of Jesus to a poor and needy world and to preach the Gospel of God’s Grace with signs following in the form of salvation, healings and miracles.

We meet every Wednesday evening for worship and fellowship in the lounge of St Matthias’ church centre, Babbacombe Road, Torquay at 7.30pm.
