Kents Cavern
KENTS Cavern is the most famous Stone Age home in Britain and a unique place to experience. As you wander through the extensive and beautiful caverns you will see rocks made from tropical corals, prehistoric weapons, human bones and the remains of mammoths, sabre toothed cats and woolly rhinos.
The caves are open every day and all tours are accompanied by entertaining and enthusiastic cave guides, finishing in an underground exhibition chamber.
Outside the caves there is plenty to entertain the family. The woodlands has a Stone Age trail, and indoors there is an activity area including the kids’ archaeologists’ dig, cave art, the wall of hands and tribal face markings. Kents Cavern is a lot of fun for all the family. Rainy summer days are always very busy, so to get maximum enjoyment we recommend you don’t wait for a rainy day to visit.
For a great family evening out in July and August, the Cavern Ghost Show is scary fun and spooky entertainment for all the family, with an “all-you-can-eat buffet” served in the themed restaurant after your frightening adventure through the caves. You do have to book for the evening ghost shows.
Kents Cavern is a quality attraction and holds many tourism awards including the National Best Practice Forum for Business Excellence 2006 for small attractions, The English Riviera Visitor Attraction of the Year 2005, the Crystal Palm Best Achievement Award 2005 and finalist as the Large Visitor Attraction in the South West Tourism Excellence awards 2006/7.
