TORQUAY’S coastal zoo is a wildlife oasis set on the town’s bustling waterfront. Beneath the soaring net canopy you will find one hundred perky penguins plus fur seals, puffins, wading birds and sea ducks. Discover beaches with gently lapping waves, the restful estuary and the busy Auk Cliff.
There’s fascinating underwater viewing and many more surprises downstairs. The café has a terrace with glorious Bay views — enjoy a coffee and look out for dolphins! The Tradewinds shop – accessible whether you are visiting Living Coasts or not - sells a range of gifts, souvenirs and Fair Trade items.
Developments during 2008 are bringing amazing new exhibits and exciting new species to Living Coasts. There will be an underground mangrove forest, poisonous stingrays and dinosaur crabs, as well as new exhibitions and displays.
There’s more to do undercover for adults and children alike, including the Penguin Academy computer gaming area, a magic interactive floor and a limpet climbing wall. Keeper talks, theatre performances, play areas and special events mean there’s always something to do. Living Coasts is an all-weather attraction.
