Big centre of small attractions

BABY animals may be small, but they will be a big attraction here at The Miniature Pony Centre this summer.

We have had 13 foals born at the centre this year, 11 ponies, one American miniature horse and one donkey.

Along with all of the other animals here, they’re waiting to meet you.

And, there’ll be lots more to keep you and the children entertained at the Miniature Pony Centre this summer, including a children’s entertainment show every day during the school holiday and face painting on most days.

The Miniature Pony Centre has more than 150 animals, including our famous miniature ponies and donkeys that foal throughout the spring and early summer. As you explore the farm you will meet lots of very friendly animals, including pigs, goats, sheep and lambs, rabbits, guinea pigs and many more.

The centre prides itself on the environment and management of its animals, so there is no better way for the children to safely be introduced to animals than here.

Set in 20 acres of beautiful Dartmoor parkland, you can enjoy scenic walks along nature trails, discovering a wealth of plant and animal life. Take time to relax in our Willow Garden, or enjoy a lakeside picnic in the beautiful parkland. In an idyllic setting in the heart of Dartmoor, there is plenty of stunning countryside for all the family to enjoy.

For the more active, there are lots of play areas, indoors and outdoors, where the children can burn off their excess energy.

For all of you potential horse riders, our riding arena is the venue for pony rides, which are supervised by our helpful, friendly and qualified staff — there is a small extra charge for pony rides, which are for children aged 2 to 9.

You’re more than welcome to bring picnics, but our Paddock View Café offers a wide choice of good quality refreshments, including morning coffee, a wide range of snacks and light lunches, cream teas and delicious cakes.

A memorable Dartmoor day. Easy to find on the main B3212 road, just 2 miles west of Moretonhampstead, towards Princetown.
